康师傅圆梦奖学金

  参加Master Kong Program的学生,在留学期间,除了作为交换留学生选课外,从培养领导能力的角度出发,学生还有义务参加各种课外活动。并把其中自己感兴趣的问题作为研究主题,以调查研究形式为主完成学术论文(independent self-research project),这是本项目核心的学习过程。

  学生到达日本后将对报名时所提交的研究计划书做出修改和调整,并重新提交最终版研究计划。通过参加有关学术、写作和调查技巧的研讨会,及与指导教授的个人面谈,自己寻找调查问题的答案。学生在完成最终论文前,需做interim presentation、poster presentation及peer review essay等,从实践中学习硕士课程所必须的基础学术研究方法。

  除了这些优点外,因为本项目的目的是充分利用有限的留学时间,充实留学生活,所以除了研究文献书籍外,作为了解日本社会的途径,应多利用实地考察和采访等方式。因为日语能力不作为参加本项目的衡量标准,但其实很多学生在语言问题上都受到了困扰。在这种情况下学生需尽最大努力克服困难,与周围的老师同学协调合作完成论文调查。在这个过程中,不只是为了提高学生的学习成绩,更是为了磨练他们的创造能力、沟通能力、工作的管理能力、坚持不懈的精神、谦逊的人格等,通过这些锻炼来提高学生的综合能力。实际上具备上述资质的人才正是本项目的培养目标 —“全球・亚洲时代”的领尖人才。

  因此,这本论文集也可以说是这个项目的成果,我想尽可能的把它与更多的中国人分享。从这本论文集中所看到的日本社会现状及相关问题,让我们日本人也受益匪浅。在此,向每一位收录论文的笔者表示最衷心的感谢。

Introduction

Master Kong Dream Scholarship Program has been carried out by Waseda University’s Center for International Education since AY2016 fall semester. Generous donation from Ting Hsin International Group, Tingyi Holding Corporation, a leading food corporation in China, makes it all possible to boost this privileged program even further. At the end of the program, students will be writing research papers on subjects such as environmental issues, food safety, and dwindling birthrate combined with the aging population.

顶新国际集团(康师傅控股有限公司)的创始人,也是本校名誉博士的魏应州先生,为加深中日两国间的相互理解及培养下一代人材,向本校提供了捐款和奖学金支持,并设立了第一期以研究生为对象的顶新奖学金项目。该项目于2009年至2015年间开展,共计341名学生顺利完成该项目。 第一期顶新奖学金项目也获得了顶新国际集团的高度评价,作为该项目的延续,根据2015年10月与该有限公司签订的奖学金备忘录,为接收优秀且经济困难的学生作为正规交换本科生,设立了第二期顶新奖学金项目(通称 康师傅圆梦奖学金计划(Master Kong Dream Scholarship Program))。 圆梦奖学金计划(通称第二期)是以来自中华人民共和国5所大学(北京大学,清华大学,复旦大学,上海交通大学和浙江大学)的本科生,在早稻田大学留学半年时间,参加留学中心负责教师的指导课程和宿毛市实践活动为中心展开的。每位学生都设想一个“圆梦计划”,活动内容充实。该计划已于2016年秋季学期开始,预计在5年内接收10期学生。 目的是为了培养下一代具有国际视野和社会责任感的人材。作为与亚洲商业界产学合作的典范,除了奖学金项目外,还期待能够开展更广泛的联合培养人材等交流项目。

Step 1:Decide which school you will apply for at Waseda and nomination by home universities

Before application, applicants MUST consult with staff of their home universities if participation in this program affects your graduation and credit transfer etc.

Documents to be submitted to their home university by the deadline your home university announces (must be in ENGLISH)

 Step 2: Research Proposal evaluation and interview by Master Kong and Waseda University

Interview by Master Kong and Waseda University will be held at your home university. (the date of interview cannot be changed)

Step 3: Apply for undergraduate school at Waseda University

If applicants pass the interview, they must submit an online application form and other required documents such as a Study Plan, a certificate of English score, and an application form for VISA, etc.Based on the submitted documents for the exchange program, each school screens the documents, and an acceptance letter will be issued. Students finally become Master Kong Students.

Dream Plan

At the end of the program, each student writes a final research paper (5,000-6,000 words) based on a research proposal which has been submitted at the time of application. Students can personalize their own academic goals but research subject in general should be related to one of the following topics.

Field Trip to Sukumo –City

Sukumo City is the place of birth of Azusa ONO who is called “Mother of Founding Waseda University”. Kochi Prefecture is a Japanese rural area and known as an aging society. The aim is to know how an aging society has impacted the rural area, and how local people try to manage it. Students will visit local communities such as elementary school, nursing home, etc. and interact with the local people. In addition, students learn environmental study especially focusing on forestry. All students submit a report on the field trip.

Master Kong students must earn at least 14 credits in total (20 credits for SILS).

Field Trip and Guest Speakers

To develop knowledge for the final report, Waseda University will set up the following arrangements based on students’ interests. These are part of “Global Asia Practicum” and “Global Asia Seminar I ~III” so all Master Kong students are expected to participate in those events.

Dormitory

During your period of study, one of Waseda’s affiliated dorms Rikko Dormitory will be your home.
Located in quiet residential area in Nerima-ku, the dorm serves many international students of universities in Tokyo and travel time to Nishi-Waseda/Waseda Campus is around 30 mins via Tokyo Metro. Private furnished bedroom with shared kitchen and bathroom.
